Report of the meeting held between Sri Narayan Biswas, Minister-In-Charge,ARD Dept Govt. of West Bengal AND the representatives of the "West Bengal State Dairy Employees'Federation" on 24th November'2010 at 3 PM at meeting room of Milk Federation office, Salt Lake Kolkata.

The meeting was held in a very cordial atmosphere. Com Subodh Ganguly,President WBSDEF, placed the written MEMORANDUM  before the hon'ble minister for discussion. Com President directed Com Abhijit Roy, Genl. Secretary to lead the discussion on behalf of the state committee. Com Genl. Secretary gradually raised all the issues, according to the priority, for discussion. The representatives of the state federation and the hon'ble minister discussed all issues at length. Both the parties during the discussion opined that certain issue may be kept in abeyance for further discussion in presence of MD, Milk Federation.  Here are some of the important issues which were been taken up for discussion:


1) Immediate release of fund for HIMUL to cater the outstanding dues of different parties and sustain milk production. Long term planning for formation of primary co-operatives perticularly  in plain areas, proper utilization of existing infrastructure including Cattle Feed Plant at Mallaguri. 


2) Increase of remunerative price for raw milk to support the increase milk collection from MPCS and the milk producer peasants. 


3) Immediate stoppage of direct milk collection from the operational area of Milk Union by Milk Federation and private agencies or vendors. 


4) Immediate stoppage of erection of bulk coolers in the area where milk chilling plants are already in place. 


5) Immediate commencement of halted work of milk and milk product testing Laboratory in the campus of Milk Federation office including recruitment personnel in view of control adulteration of milk and milk product.


6) Immediate pay revision for employees of DAIRY & POULTRY CORPORATION in accordance with the 5th pay commission report as accepted be the govt of West Bengal. Adoption of proper planning to run the Dairy-pol as an profit making organization. 


7) Immediate wage revision / regularization of casual /contract workers employed in the perennial nature of work in the Milk Unions and milk sector as a whole.
